Dates: The Chicon 7 convention dates are from Thursday, August 30, 2012, to Monday, September 3, 2012. Please keep this in mind when booking your reservation.
Cutoff Date for Reservations: The cutoff date is August 10, 2012. Reservation requests received after the cutoff date will be based on availability at the Group's discounted rates.
Party floors: The Hyatt reservations system or staff should ask whether you want a room in the party area or non-party area. If you aren't asked, please let them know. We encourage those who like to go to parties, those who want to help out their fellow fen, and those who are affiliated with a party group to request rooms on a party floor. Limitations on the number of party suites people can request typically come from a shortage of people willing to be on party floors. So, if you want more parties at Chicon 7, please help by taking a room on a party floor.
Multiple People in Room: If you are booking a room online for two or more persons, be sure to fill in a name and email address for every slot, even if you just repeat your own name and email address as a placeholder. (If you change a name online later, the automatic hotel reservation system might cancel and try to rebook the reservation and you could potentially lose the room type you requested.)
Room Cancellation: All individual reservations require a credit card guarantee. One night's room and tax will be charged if the guest cancels after 3 p.m. 72 hours prior to arrival date. Confirmed reservations shall be binding so long as the holder of the Reservation arrives by 3 a.m. of the day immediately following the stated date of the reservation. If no room is available on the night and the holder of the reservation, and his co-occupants, have a confirmed reservation, the Hyatt will provide transportation to a comparable hotel and provide comparable lodging for them at the Hyatt's expense until such room at the Hyatt is available. At that time the Hyatt will provide transportation returning to the Hyatt and provide them a room at the current Convention rate for the duration of their stay.
Please make sure to cancel your reservation if you find you will be unable to attend so that your room can be made available for other members.

The Sheraton Chicago is not connected to the Hyatt. It is directly across the river, a 2 block, 4 minute level walk across the N Columbus Dr bridge to the front door of the Hyatt Regency. The Sheraton will not be used for parties or programming. Please see Sheraton Chicago web site for more information about the hotel. A main feature of the Sheraton is that it has a pool for guests.

We have rooms blocked at the group rate for up to 9 days pre-con and 5 days post-con.

If you leave earlier than the confirmed date of your reserved departure, The Hotel Will Charge a Fee of $169.
If extenuating circumstances prevent you from attending, you may be able to persuade the Sheraton to waive the non-refundable charge. We will assist you should this occur, but cannot guarantee you success.
The Hotel advises its guests that they are responsible for safekeeping of their personal property.
