Hugo Voter Packet - Fancast
This year, Chicon 7 has chosen to exercise its right under section 3.3.15 of the
WSFS constitution to create a single, extra, one-time Hugo Award. The additional award category is Best Fancast, defined as "Any non-professional audio- or video-casting with at least four (4) episodes that had at least one (1) episode released in 2011."
The Best Fancast nominees have each provided the below links to a representative episode of their 2011 fancasts along with their accompanying show notes. Those links will take you to the nominees' websites where you will be able to download that episode.
Each Best Fancast nominee will have download directions somewhere on their website. Please be aware that these will be large audio files.
Happy listening and voting!

Episode 65: Live with Gary K. Wolfe and Jo Walton!
Gary and I travelled to Reno, Nevada to attend Renovation, the World Science Fiction Convention for 2011. Over the weekend we recorded a handful of podcasts with friends, old and new, that we see to seldom. We'll be publishing these over the coming month. The first in the series is with Jo Walton, author of Among Others and Farthing, where we discussed that novel, science fiction, her Hugo blogging and many other things. As always, we hope you enjoy the podcast.
Galactic Suburbia Podcast, Alisa Krasnostein, Alex Pierce, and Tansy Rayner Roberts (presenters) and Andrew Finch (producer)
Episode 32: 11 May 2011
In which we bid farewell to Joanna Russ, talk e-publishing (again) and Alisa reads a real live actual book. With bonus raving about Doctor Who and Alistair Reynolds - in other words, another episode of Galactic Suburbia.

The SF Signal Podcast #26: Lou Anders, Sue Lange, Mike Resnick and John Picacio Talk About the Impact of eBook Publishing
In episode 26 of the SF Signal Podcast, we have something very special for you. We've given our regular panelists the night off so they can recharge and refresh and have asked some very special guests to convene and discuss
the future and impact of eBook Publishing:
- Is the quickly rising eBook market going to save the publishing industry or further erode an already dwindling market?
- Is the printed book dead?
- Is eBook publishing good for authors in the long run?
- What about piracy?
- How will the (impending?) death of Borders affect publishing?

In this episode we talked about:
We also asked Seanan our silly questions at long last. There may even be some spontaneous caroling. Along with Seanan’s explanation of the importance of stopping murdering people during the holiday season.
