Chicago, Illinois, USA - Chicon 7, the 70th World Science Fiction Convention (Worldcon), has started to mail out Progress Report #4 (PR4). Members should begin to receive their progress reports by the end of the week.
A downloadable electronic version of PR4 is available for members at
www.chicon.org/progress-reports.php. Members who are uncertain whether they have requested electronic or paper progress reports can check their status with the membership team, who can be reached at reg@chicon.org.
Progress Report 4 contains many items of interest to Chicon 7 members including the Hugo Award Final Ballot, 2014 Worldcon Site Selection Ballot, and updates from
across the convention team.
The Hugo Award Final Ballot process is open to all adult and young adult members of Chicon 7 who join by the voting deadline of July 31, 2012. Members are also
entitled to download the Hugo Voter Packet, an electronic package of nominated works graciously made available to voters by nominees and their publishers. Ballots can
be submitted online or by postal mail, and must be received by the voting deadline.
The 2014 Site Selection process is open to all adult and young adult members of Chicon 7 and will determine the site of the 75th anniversary World Science Fiction
convention, which will be held in 2014. Voting is by postal mail or in person at Chicon 7 and continues until the ballot closes on Saturday, September 1.
PR4 also includes feature articles on Artist Guest of Honor Rowena Morrill, Special Guest Sy Liebergot, and Toastmaster John Scalzi, as well as news on Chicon 7's
spectacular opening night event at the Adler Planetarium and details on childcare, children's programming, and special exhibits.

Chicon 7 is the 2012 World Science Fiction Convention ("Worldcon"). The first Worldcon occurred in New York City in 1939 and Worldcons have been held annually since then except for 1942-45 when there was no event due to World War II. Chicon 7's Guests of Honor are five-time Hugo winning author Mike Resnick, artist Rowena Morrill, art agent and collector Jane Frank, science fiction fan and former Worldcon chair Peggy Rae Sapienza, and astronaut Story Musgrave.
