Welcome to Loncon 3!

Welcome to the home page of Loncon 3, the 2014 World Science Fiction Convention (Worldcon). On this site you'll find everything you need to know about the convention, including our guests, programme, special events, exhibits, Art Show, Dealers' Zone and of course how to register and where to stay while you're in town.

This will be the 72nd Worldcon, and the first to be held in London since 1965. It will also be the 75th anniversary of the very first Worldcon held in New York in 1939 - something we will be celebrating within our programme and events.

Loncon 3 will be a celebration of science fiction in all its forms. We expect well over 7,000 fans to join us at London's ExCeL centre, along with hundreds of writers, editors, artists, and other professionals from across the genre. The 1939 Retro-Hugos

From their inception in 1953, the Hugo Awards have grown to be the most prestigious awards in the genre. As host of the 2014 Worldcon, Loncon 3 will be hosting the Hugo Awards for the best work in 2013.

We are delighted to announce that in addition, we will also be hosting the Retrospective Hugo Awards for the best work of 1938. This is a rare opportunity: the Retro-Hugos use the same rules and categories as the current awards, but can only be presented on the anniversary of a year in which a Worldcon was held, but did not present Hugo Awards.

Nominations for both the 1939 Retro-Hugo Awards and 2014 Hugo Awards will open in January 2014. All Attending Adult, Young Adult, and Supporting members of Loncon 3 are eligible to nominate, along with full members of the 2013 and 2015 Worldcons.
