Help Us Create Ankh-Morpork

Putting a Piece of Discworld Into the Hynes

We plan to have a mingling area in the ConCourse that recreates a little bit of Ankh-Morpork ... and what better part of Ankh-Morpork to recreate than the Mended Drum?

Yes, a pub, complete with various Pratchett-esque characters in attendance. (Members of the Assassins’ Guild must adhere to Noreascon 4's Weapons Policy even while exploring Ankh-Morpork or quaffing a wet one at the Mended Drum.)

We believe that we can promise you rat-on-a-stick to eat, along with more traditional modern snacks such as pizza, hot dogs and nachos. And, of course, what's a pub without beer and other things to drink?

But to create a fantastic Ankh-Morpork, we need people with skills not normally recruited for a typical Worldcon. Specifically, we need a few people with more theatrical skills, including:

• set design
• set building
• character wrangler
• characters (from Nanny Ogg to Death and others in between)

We’re also looking for a few people who live in the Boston area who would be able to help us locate set flats to borrow between August 1 and September 10, 2004.
