Travel

This section of the website will provide as much information as we can about everything we think you might want to know about travel and tourism around Loncon 3.

At the moment there’s just some introductory information, similar to what’s appeared in our Progress Reports so far, providing an overview of travel to and from ExCeL and the immediate vicinity. By LoneStarCon 3 (at the end of August 2013), when we know some people will begin to think about planning their trip to the 2014 Worldcon, we intend to have quite a lot more information available here. And we’ll then continue to update the site with the more detailed information and advice which will become more relevant as we get closer to Loncon 3.

We’re intending to give you the information you need to work out your best options for travelling to and from the convention, whether you’re coming from within the UK or elsewhere in Europe or from further afield – and recognising that a lot of international attendees at Loncon 3 will be considering a longer trip before and/or after the Worldcon itself. So we’re also planning to help more with that by covering travel around London and around the UK overall plus more about tourism.

Of course, there are plenty of other travel and tourism sites in which you’ll be able to find out both general information and more about your own specific interests and needs. We’re aiming to be your first port of call, give you the details specifically relevant to Loncon 3, and point you in the right direction for all the other things that you might need to know.
