Comics and graphic novels programme
I’m passionate about comic books. I’m an omnivorous reader: I like superheroes, memoirs, humour, comix, Manga, anthologies, horror, web comics, science fiction, fantasy, and mimetic comic books. Sequential art in all its expressions is wonderful partly because its malleable quality lends it to a diversity of subjects and forms.
My aim for the comic book programme is to celebrate the sheer range of the medium, to show its development, and how it has influenced, and been influenced by, other art forms.
Plans are afoot for competitions, exhibitions, live drawing, children’s workshops, and panel discussions that explore the rich tradition of sequential art worldwide and how it is likely to evolve in the future.
I look forward to offering you a showcase of this vibrant and multifarious medium.
